Camping has remained popular in recent years, and there are three camping spots in Tosashimizu City , including Snow Peak Tosashimizu Camp Field, which opened in 2019.

This year’s Golden Week is a long holiday, so you can either settle down and go on an extended camping trip in Tosashimizu City , or you can visit various places and camp Tomari in Tosashimizu City . Either way, you can enjoy the magnificent nature of Tosashimizu City in Shikoku.

Snow Peak Tosashimizu Camp Field
Snow Peak Tosashimizu Camp Field was renovated and reopened in 2019 on the site of what was originally Tsumeshiro Campground, which was developed primarily by local residents.
On the northwest side are the Jyubako site, Sakurahama Beach, and Tatsukushi Beach. On the southeast side are the free site and Tsumeshiro Beach, separated by natural forests.
This campsite is directly operated by Snow Peak, a company famous for camping and outdoor equipment, and is very popular due to its location.
There are plenty of sea activities available, such as swimming in the sea in the summer and rock fishing in the winter.

At night, I think the quickest evacuation route is to go up the Saka leading to the orange grove behind Hotel Orange.
Toujindaba Park
This is a large park located in the Tojindaba area, a power spot on Cape Ashizuri Misaki.
Because it is far from major metropolitan areas, there is almost no light pollution and you can see a beautiful starry sky.
The premises also include a Yoro ranch called Ashizuri Daddy Ranch, where you can see the horses.
Please note that this area is not maintained or managed as a campsite, so please follow the established rules when using the area.

・Bonfires on the grass are prohibited (please make sure to use a fire pit).
・Please refrain from loud conversations, loud music, playing musical instruments, etc., as this may disturb residents of neighboring farms or homes.

・There is no trash disposal area. Please be sure to take your trash home with you.
This park is open to the public free of charge thanks to the generosity of the local government and local residents. If the above rules are not followed, the park will no longer be available for use as a campsite, so we ask for your understanding and cooperation.

Points to note when accessing
The shortest route is to go through the Matsuo Tunnel on Prefectural Route 27 Westbound, turn onto the old road, and pass through Matsuo Sakura Park, but the roads are very narrow and include routes where passing each other is difficult.
Small minicars, motorbikes and bicycles can easily get through if they are careful, but for passenger cars and larger vehicles the road is narrow and dangerous, so we recommend accessing the area via the old Ashizuri Skyline.
The entrance to Tojindaba from the old Ashizuri Skyline is at the location shown in the photo.
In addition, there is little traffic on the old Ashizuri Skyline, and if fallen leaves pile up on the roadside and it gets wet from rain, there is a risk of slipping, so please be careful.

Therefore, we recommend that you do your shopping in the city beforehand.

Tojindaba Park is located at a high altitude, so there is no risk of flooding due to a tsunami.
Once the shaking has subsided, remain calm and take action.
Shimonokae Beach
This beautiful sandy beach is located north of Okinohama-beach, at the mouth of the Shimonokae River.
It’s a hidden spot that’s hard to notice even when driving along the national highway, and is a popular spot among surfers.
This spot is also not managed as a campground.
Therefore, please enjoy camping by following the established rules.

About the facility
In the past, cars have crushed sea turtle eggs with their tires on the beach.
There have been accidents where baby sea turtles have died because they were unable to cross the tracks made by intruding cars.
From the perspective of protecting the environment, please refrain from driving onto the beach.
Shellfish digging is also prohibited.
Please be aware that this is considered “poaching” and will be subject to punishment.

(Please be especially careful as there are more houses around compared to Tojindaba Park.)

Please note that the entrance is a little difficult to find.
There is also a narrow path leading from the entrance to the beach.
Be careful not to drive too fast.
Also, although it is possible to drive cars over the embankment, as mentioned above, please never drive your cars onto the beach.

Summary of camping spots in Tosashimizu City
Except for Tojindaba Park, which is at a higher altitude, the other two are located along the coast and have immediate access to the sea.
We recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy marine activities such as sea kayaking, which can be enjoyed during the Golden Week holidays.
In addition, Tojindaba Park is an isolated spot where there is no smartphone reception – there is only one signal or so.
It is recommended for those who want to relax in a quiet place surrounded by greenery.
Please note that even outside of the three spots introduced here, you will often see people setting up tents or Nakadomari, but this is generally prohibited.
